#IkoKaziKE; YOUR NEXT JOB COULD BE A HASHTAG AWAY

My name is Rose Munuhe, I am 26 years old, former banker by profession now I just do my own work mostly part-time. Last year when I resigned I had a hard time finding jobs to apply for. Usually we have the common job sites, sadly to no avail I rarely got call backs.

Amidst the search a friend of mine found me a social media account managing job, I got to use the social media platforms not just for leisure but also to earn extra cash. I noticed people post jobs a lot on their individual accounts rather than only on job websites, so I came up with an idea. I started a Hashtag months ago that enables individuals and corporates to easily help people trace the job vacancies. The hashtag is #IkoKaziKE which is very popular on Twitter mostly, though even on Facebook and Instagram I also share the jobs tagged. It’s actually really impressive how it caught on, there was a week I was offline and upon my return I noticed people still tagged job postings regardless of my absence. Reason I started the hashtag was to enable people to spot jobs easily due to easier tracking, so it’s not even a must you follow certain individuals to see the job openings, just check out the hash tag. I love helping people, greatest commandment is love, and even though I may not be big enough to own my own recruitment agency at least I always post jobs I just randomly see online, and yes #IkoKaziKE has actually yielded results, people get call backs and interviews. I plan on monitoring its long run effect. It’s a free way to source for staff, so if you see any job openings please tag #IkoKaziKE and let’s help each other get jobs. My parting shot “If somebody wants to help you, they will always help you with no strings attached”. And a big thank you to my friends and family for always helping me, because they showed me I can also help people.
