John Kennedy believes that it’s his discipline that got him the coveted spot on the BYOB TV Show. He is wise, hungry and the fiercest when it comes to the big win of 5 Million Shillings. He runs Breton Bikes Kenya, a business that deals with renting, retailing, manufacturing and assembling of quality and affordable bicycles. He started out with very few resources and space but he stuck through it all. Believe it or not, his business’s revenue as at last year was KSH 800,000.
“The BYOB Show experience will change my life. From achieving my career goals in Retail and Manufacturing to Communications. This will gear my direction in leaving a legacy on this earth.” John Kennedy Methu
John Kennedy Methu grew up in both Nairobi and Nyandarua. His parents are loving, spiritual and disciplined, his elder sister is an engineer and his younger brother studies at Nyeri’s St Mary Boys Secondary School. From childhood, he’s believed that discipline, hard work and consistency are the secret ingredient to a successful life.
His networks will expand, his hands-on professional experience will bud up, his business will get good exposure, and the list is endless! To John, GRIT means discipline. That’s the foundation of his work ethic and consistency. He believes this is the GRIT edition because the competition is stiffer and the stakes are higher.
If he wins, he intends to use the money in a very strategic way. First, he’ll set up a manufacturing unit in Nairobi, then rebrand and open up 10 branches country wide with self-service rental services, retail and repair services. He then plans to reinvest the rest to gain him another source of revenue.
